The shawn is made diagonally, starting on the wider side and ending with a point, creating a triangle.

CO 181 using 4 mm needles and p one row (WS). Turn your work and knit the 1st row as follows: p 1 (edge st), p2tog, p the next 178 sts.

2nd row (and all even rows) (WS): p all sts.

3rd row (RS): p 1 (edge st), p2tog, p next 102 sts, knit next 73 sts following the lace pattern, p 2.

5th row (RS): p 1 (edge st), p2tog, p next 101 sts, knit next 73 sts following the lace pattern, p 2.

7th row (RS): p 1 (edge st), p2tog, p next 100 sts, knit next 73 sts following the lace pattern, p 2.

Following rows: keep knitting the RS rows by p 1 edge st, p2tog, garter st until you reach the lace pattern (last 75 sts of the row), 73 sts following lace chart, p 2. This will ensure that the shawl has the right shape. When you run out of the garter sts with the decreases, keep making, on the RS: p 1 edge st, p2tog, lace pattern, p 2 until there are only 3 sts left on the needles. Then, on the RS: p 1 edge st, p2tog; turn your work and p2tog on the WS.

The shawl is done. Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle and steam block it, pinning the shawl to shape it and achieve the final measurements.

* SSK: slip two sts knitwise to the right needle, slip both back to the left needle and knit them together through the back loop.

* k2tog: knit 2 sts together as usual.
