Synthetic Leather, 4” long x 1” wide.

Chart 1 - Bottom
With the Orange Peel yarn, start with a magic ring. Work in spiral crochet, closing each rnd. with an invisible fasten off.

Set the yarn aside.
Chart 2 - Lateral
The basket lateral uses the tapestry crochet technique; in this technique, work with 2 or more strands in the same round, changing colors according to what the chart specifies. To change colors, pull the last 2 loops off the hook with the new color, and hide the other yarn over the previous round, between the stitches of the new color.
Continue with the Orange Peel yarn from chart 1, work in spiral crochet, closing each rnd. with an invisible fasten off.
1 - Work by taking the sl sts from the last round of the bottom part: 56 ws st.
2 - 56 ws st.
2 - Join the Black yarn and extend over the base round. Work 27 ws st. with Orange Peel yarn, change to Black yarn, 3 ws st., change to Orange Peel yarn, 26 ws st.Continue following chart 2, working in circular rows, making the appropriate color changes. Fasten off the Black yarn and reserve the Orange Peel yarn.
Chart 3 - Finishing
Continue with the Orange Peel yarn from chart 2.

Fasten off.

With the Orange Peel yarn, start with a magic ring. Work in spiral crochet, closing each rnd. with an invisible fasten off.

Fold the synthetic leather in half, pass it through the center of the lid from top to bottom, forming a handle at the top and leaving about 0.8” to glue the leather to the back of the lid.
