Gauge

16 sts X 12 rows = 4” X 4” in main pattern stitch.

For swatch use 4.5mm hook and ch 24,

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook and next st, *ch 3, sk 3, dc 3,

repeat from * across, turn.

Then use Rows 2-3 of main body back panel to finish

swatch.

Notes

1.The pullover is made in four pieces. Back panel, front

panel and two sleeves. It is then seamed together and

a collar is added around the neckline.

2. Ch 3 at beginning of rows counts as a stitch. Ch 1 at

beginning of rows does not count as a stitch. Sl sts do

not count as stitches.

3. The main pattern stitch is a multiple of 6+3.

4. Pattern is made with 7.5-15.5” of positive ease. Size

down for a tighter fit.

5. Model is wearing a size 2X and is 5’9”

 BACK AND FRONT PANELS


Back Panel: make one

Ribbing:

With MC and 4mm hook, ch 10 (for all sizes)

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1,

turn. (9)

Row 2: sc in BLO across, ch 1, turn. (9)

Repeat Row 2 for a total of 75(87, 99, 111, 123, 135, 147)

rows. Do not ch 1 on the last row.

Main Body:

Change to 4.5mm hook. Turn your ribbing 90 degrees.

We will now be working into the edges of the ribbing to

start the main body of the back panel.

Row 1(RS): ch 3(counts as 1st st), dc 2, *ch 3, sk 3, dc 3,

repeat from * across, turn. (75(87, 99, 111, 123, 135, 147)

Change to CC1 leaving MC attached.

Row 2(WS): ch 3, sk 3, *dc 3 one row below, working

around the ch sts, ch 3, sk 3, repeat from * across sl st to

Change to CC2 leaving CC1 attached.

Repeat Rows 2-3 for a total of 69 rows, changing color at

the end of each row.

You will alternate between all 3 colors as you go. Do not

fasten off any colors just carry the yarn up the sides.

You will now be working on the back neckline shaping. You

will be eliminating the ch 3 sts in the center of the back

panel by working sc sts into the dc sts.

To mark the bottom of the neckline place stitch markers

into the 25th(31st, 37th, 43rd, 49th, 55th, 61st) st from each side

edge.

Row 70: ch 3, sk 3, *dc 3 one row below, ch 3, sk 3*, repeat

from * to * until 1st st marker, **sc 3, dc 3 one row below**,

You will now be working each side of the neckline

separately starting with the left side. You will need to attach

a new skein of CC2. Continue to change colors every row

Set Up Row: 2sc in each edge across until 1 edge remains,

sc in last edge, turn. (63(63, 69, 75, 81, 81, 91)

Row 1(RS): ch 3(counts as 1st st), dc 2, *ch 3, sk 3, dc 3,

repeat from * across, turn. (63(63, 69, 75, 81, 81, 98)

Change to CC1 leaving MC attached.

Row 2(WS): ch 3, sk 3, *dc 3 one row below, working around

the ch sts, ch 3, sk 3, repeat from * across sl st to top of ch 3,

Change to CC2 leaving CC1 attached.


SLEEVES & SEAMING


Row 3: ch 3(counts as 1st st), dc 2 one row below, *ch 3, sk

Change to MC leaving CC2 attached.

Repeat Rows 2-3 for a total of 54(54, 51, 51, 48, 48, 45) rows,

changing color at the end of each row.

You will alternate between all 3 colors as you go. Do not

fasten off any colors just carry the yarn up the sides.

Row 55(55, 52, 52, 49, 49, 46): ch 1, *sc 3, dc 3 one row

below, repeat from * until 3 sts remain, sc 3. (63(63, 69, 75,

81, 81, 91)

Fasten off leaving a long tail for seaming.


Seaming:


Lay Back Panel and two Front Panels together at the

shoulders with RS facing each other. Using your

preferred seaming method attach front panels to

back panel.

Then using MC and size 4.5mm hook, evenly sc along

front and back panel edges (see arrows). Make sure

that the RS of the sweater is facing up. Work on sc in

each st of ribbings. Work 2 sc in each dc edge

adding a 3rd st every 3rd row. Approx. 192 sts.

Fasten off and weave in ends.


SEAMING & COLLAR


Attach the sleeves to the sides of thePullover, using your

preferred seaming method, making sure to align the

center of the sleeve with the shoulder seam. Make sure the

sleeves are attached evenly from the center shoulder

seam, down the sides. Using stitch markers to hold the

sleeve in place is recommended.


 

Fold Pullover so that the back and front panels are on top of

each other. Then seam the sleeves from the underarm to the

cuff. Seam the sides from the underarm down to the bottom.



Collar

With 4mm hook, attach MC yarn to right shoulder seam with

RS facing and ch 1.

Set up row

sc in same st as join and evenly across all row

edges and back neckline stitches. Work approx. 10 sts

along decrease rows on back panel and 26 sts along

decrease rows on front panel, work a sc3tog in center of vneck,

sl st to 1st st to join. (approx. 98 sts)

We will now be adding an applied ribbing to create the

collar.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, sl st

into next 2 sts of set up row making sure to be moving

toward the center v neck, turn. (4 sc)

Row 2: sk sl sts, sc BLO in each st across, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)

Row 3: sc BLO in each st across, sl st in next 2 sts of set up

row, turn. (4 sc)

Repeat Rows 2-3 until you hit the center v neck st.

Turn work so RS of collar and sweater are facing. Sl st the

current row of the collar to the next four set up row sts. Ch

1, work 4 sc into the row edges of the collar, ch 1 and turn.

Work a Row 3 repeat.

Then repeat Rows 2-3 until you reach the beginning of the

collar. With RS of collar facing, sl st ends together and

fasten off.


Weave in any remaining ends.
