Materials:

1 Amigurumi yarn ball – Color: #8176 (Off-White);

1 Maxi Mouline thread skein – Color: #900 (Black);

Circular knitting needle – 3.5 mm with a cable of 80 cm (30 inches) or more;

Polyester stuffing;

Safety eyes (8 mm) – Black;

Tapestry needle;

Locking stitch marker.


Stitch Glossary & Abbreviations:

  • Knit Stitch = k.; Two Stitches Together in Knit = k2tog.; Purl = p.; Two Stitches Together in Purl = p2tog.;

  • Left-Leaning Decrease/Slip Slip Knit – slip two stitches knitwise, one at a time, onto the right-hand needle. Return the stitches to the left-hand needle and knit them together through the back loop = left dec. / ssk;

  • Knit Increase in the Same Base Stitch/Make 1 (knit one stitch through the front loop without dropping it, then knit one stitch through the back loop) = k inc. / M1;

  • Left Increase/Make 1 Left (make an increase by lifting the horizontal strand between two stitches, inserting the needle from back to front) = left inc. / M1L;

  • Right Increase/Make 1 Right (make an increase by lifting the horizontal strand between two stitches, inserting the needle from front to back) = right inc. / M1R;

  • Round (work in circular knitting using the magic loop technique) = rnd.;

  • Knitting Cast-On with Magic Ring – create each stitch using a crochet hook inside the magic ring, yarn over, pull the yarn through the loop, and transfer the stitch to the knitting needle.

  • Bobble Stitch = k1, yo, k1, yo, k1 (all in the same base stitch), transfer the 5 stitches back to the left-hand needle, k5, pass the second stitch on the right-hand needle over the first stitch, repeat 4x, bobble completed, and you return to 1 stitch = bobble st.

Read the entire pattern before starting.Gather all the necessary materials.Knit the arms and tail first, adding stuffing as instructed.Before inserting the stuffing into the piece, push all the stitches onto the needle cable.

Stuff the arm lightly.Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of approximately 12 inches (30 cm).Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn through the 10 stitches.Pull tight to close the hole and secure with a knot.Tighten the magic ring at the beginning and knot securely.Make the second arm the same way.

 

Tail

Start with Amigurumi yarn #8176 (Off-White)Cast on 8 stitches using the "Magic Ring Knitted Cast-On" technique.Don’t close the magic ring.Create the magic loop, leaving half of the stitches on each needle.

R1: k8R2: (k1, M1R) 8x = 16 stsR3 to R11 (9 rounds): 16 stsR12: k4, M1R, k8, M1L, k4 = 18 stsR13: 18 stsR14: k5, M1R, k8, M1L, k5 = 20 stsR15: 20 sts

Transfer the stitches to a scrap yarn using a tapestry needle.Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of approximately 6 inches (15 cm) for sewing.Set aside.Knit the second leg in the same way as the first.Don’t cut the yarn for the 2nd leg.

 

Body

Continue with Amigurumi yarn #8176 (Off-White)Transfer the stitches from the first leg back to the needle with the round's end facing the needle tips, placing half the stitches on each needle.Transfer the stitches from the second leg to the needle with the round's end facing the needle's cable. Again, place half the stitches on each needle as shown in the picture below. This way, the magic loop is set up with 40 stitches.

R1: (k2, M1R) 18x = 54 stsR2-R22: 54 sts (21 rounds)Place the safety eyes on the 12th round, at the 9th and 16th stitches, with 6 stitches of space between them.Stuff the body up to the neck.

R23: (k1, k2tog) 18x = 36 stsR24: 36 stsR25: (k1, k2tog) 12x = 24 stsR26: 24 stsStuff the head.

R27: (k2tog) 12x = 12 stsR28: 12 sts

Cut the yarn, leaving about 12 inches (30 cm) for sewing.Finish stuffing the head.Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn through the 12 stitches.Pull the yarn tightly to close the hole and tie a knot.Embroider the eyelashes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth using Maxi Mouline #900 (Black).Sew a running stitch on the 28th round of the body, starting at the nape, pull to shape the neck, tie a strong knot, cut off the excess yarn, and hide the ends inside the sheep.Sew the tail, centering it on the 6th round of the body on the back.
