Instructions
The Basket uses the tapestry crochet technique. In this technique, work with 2 or more yarns in the same round, changing colors as indicated by the chart. To change colors, finish the last 2 loops on the hook with the new color, and hide the unused yarn over the previous round, weaving it between the stitches of the new color.
Chart 1 - Head
With the Henna yarn and 7.0 mm hook, start with a magic ring. Work in circular rounds, closing all the rounds with invisible round closure.

Fasten off.
Glue the eye between rnd. 14 and 15 of the head.Cut 2 pieces of Maxxi Retrós Black thread, approximately 0.6” long, twist them together, and glue them to the head between rnd. 12 and 13, aligning them with the eye and leaving a 2-stitch gap between them, following the assembly diagram.Cut 2 more pieces of Maxxi Retrós Black thread, approximately 1.2” long, twist them together, and glue them to the head over rnd. 18, aligning them with the eye.
Chart 2 – Ears (2x)
With the Rose yarn and 7.0 mm hook, start with a magic ring.
1- 6 sc. (close the magic ring forming a half-moon)
Make 2 identical ears and glue them between the 14th and 16th rnd. of the head, aligning them on the sides, following the assembly diagram.
Chart 3 – Nose
With the Passion yarn and 4.0 mm hook, make with 5 ch.
1- Start in the 3rd ch. from the hook, work: 2 sc., 3 sc. in the last base ch., on the other side of the foundation ch.: 2 sc., 1 inc. in the last ch.
Close with sl st., fasten off the yarn.
Glue the nose between rnd. 16 and 17, centering it on the front of the head. Follow the assembly diagram.
Chart 4 – Body
With the Love Apple yarn and 7.0 mm hook, work in circular rounds, closing all the rounds with invisible round closure.
1- Fill the MDF base with 69 sc (if the base has fewer holes, distribute inc. throughout the round). Make an invisible round closure.
2- 69 FP sl st.
3- 69 sc. Fasten off the yarn.
4- Join the White yarn, 69 wc st. Fasten off the yarn.
5- Join the Love Apple yarn, 69 wc st. Fasten off the yarn.
6- Join the White yarn, 69 wc st. Fasten off the yarn.
7 to10- Join the Grey Resin yarn, 69 BL sc. Fasten off the yarn.
11- Join the Brazilian Green, 67 wc st., 1 dec. (68)
12- 68 wc st.
13- (Join the Love Apple yarn and work 1 wc st., change to Brazilian Green yarn, 3 wc st.) x17 (68)
Continue following chart 4, working in circular rounds, making the appropriate color changes, and closing all the rounds with an invisible closure.
Fasten off the yarns.
Chart 5 – Hat
With the Passion yarn and 4.0 mm hook, make 32 ch. Close with 1 sl st., forming a circle.
1- Work in the right side of the piece: Start with 2 ch., 31 hdc. Close with sl st.
2- Work in the wrong side of the piece: Start with 2 ch., 31 hdc. Close with sl st.
3- Work in the right side of the piece: Start with 2 ch., 31 hdc. Close with sl st.
Continue following chart 5, working in back-and-forth rows, alternating one row on the right side and the next on the wrong side of the piece.Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail to close the hat.Pass the finishing yarn through every 3 stitches and close the top of the hat, gathering and securing the last row. Fasten off the yarn.
With Amigurumi Soft White yarn, make a pom-pom of approximately 2” in diameter and sew it to the top of the hat, following the assembly diagram.
Chart 6 – Hat Cuff
Join the Amigurumi Soft White yarn to the brim of the hat, over the initial ch. of chart 5, and work with a 4.0 mm hook.
Start with 2 ch., 31 hdc. Close with sl st.
Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail for sewing.
Fold the cuff up and make a few stitches to secure it in place. Fasten off the yarn.Glue the hat onto the head, following the assembly diagram.
