Abbreviations: DC: double crochet; ch.: chain; st: stitch; sts: stitches; SC: single crochet; slst: slip stitch; MR: magic ring; rnd: round.

Gauge: 1 granny square with 6 rows in DC, made with Anne and 2.5mm hook: 10 x 10 cm.

Techniques used:

The ch 3 at the beginning of each round counts as 1 DC.

Corner: 2 chs between two 3 DC clusters (4 in total on the square, 1 on the triangle).

The squares are made in the round, turning the work at the end of each round; the half squares are made flat.

Granny Square (make 32): make a MR using Anne in the color 8176 (off white).

1st rnd: in the MR, make: 3 chs, 2 DC, 2 chs, {3 DC, 2 chs}, repeat {} two more times and slst into the 3rd ch. from the beginning to join the round. Each ch 2 space is a corner and you should have four 3 DC clusters. Turn the work and close the MR. Cut the yarn to change colors.

2nd rnd: join the Turquoise yarn to one of the corners and ch 3; make 2 DC, 2 chs, 3 DC, 1 ch.; into the next corner, make {3 DC, 2 chs, 3 DC, 1 ch}, repeat {} two more times then slst into the first st. Cut the yarn to change colors and turn your work.

3rd rnd: join the Tangerine yarn to one of the corners and ch 3; make 2 DC, 2 chs, 3 DC, 1 ch; make 3 DC into each ch 1 space until you reach the next corner; then make {3 DC, 2 chs, 3 DC, 1 ch}, repeat ** two more times until the end of the round and slst into the first st. Cut the yarn to change colors and turn your work.

Repeat 3rd round 3 more times, until your square has 6 rounds in total. Change the yarn color in each round, according to the chart.

Half square (make 14): make a MR using Anne in the color 8176 (off white).

1st row: into the MR: ch 4 (counts as 1 DC + 1 ch space), 3 DC, ch 2 (middle of the row), 3 DC, 1 ch, 1 DC. Close the MR and turn your work.

2nd row: ch 4, {3 DC and 1 ch into each ch 1 space} until you reach the middle of the row, 3 DC, ch 2, 3 DC into the middle space, {3 DC and 1 ch into each ch 1 space} until you reach the end of the row, 1 DC into the 3rd ch from the beginning of the previous row.

Repeat 2nd row 4 more times, until your half square has a total of 6 rows. Change the yarn color in each row, according to the chart.

Assembling: organize the squares and half squares according to the Assembling chart, paying attention to the half squares that should be folded in half on the sides; join all of them together with slsts on the front loop only of each st (back loop, if you’re looking at the right side of the piece).

Finishing: on the bottom edge and sleeves: make 1 row of SC, with 1 SC in each st and ch. On the neckline, make 6 rounds of SC, with 1 SC in each st and ch. (visual instructions on the Assembling chart)
