Let's Make Hearts (With Video)

Level of difficulty




Materials:

Circulo Bossa Nova Yarn (approx. 10 yds);

Needle size US 8 (5mm) – if circular: 16” cord;

1 craft broach pin (approx. 1” wide);

Fiberfill (approx. ½ oz);

Permanent washable adhesive.

 

Stitch Glossary and Abbreviations: st/sts; K: knit; P: purl; Kfb: Knit front and back; K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together; P2tog: Purl 2 stitches together; ( ): Number of stitches on row; RS: right side (knit side); WS: wrong side (purl side).

 

Instructions (make 2)

Cast on 2 stitches

Row 1: Kfb both stitches (4)

Row 2: purl row (4)

Row 3: Kfb, k to last stitch then Kfb (6)

Row 4: purl row (6)

Repeat Rows 3 and 4 till 14 sts.

(Don’t forget the purl row 14 sts)

(RS): k2tog, k5, turn (6) and 7 sts left

(WS): p2tog, p2, p2tog (4)

(RS): Bind off and weave in tail on WS

Go back to 7 sts left on RS (attach yarn)

(RS): k5, k2tog (6)

(WS): p2tog, p2, p2tog (4)

(RS): Bind off and leave a long tail for assembly


Assembly

Place both hearts RS together

Start sewing all around and leave a 1” opening

Turn inside out

Stuff with fiberfill

Sew opening shut

Glue broach pin to the back of the heart
