Materials:
Círculo – Natural Cotton Maxicolor 4/4 – 2 rolls in Rust color 7259;
Círculo crochet hook – 3 mm;
Círculo knitting needle – 4 mm;
Buttons – 2 transparent buttons, 0.8 inch (2 cm) in diameter;
Latex – 195 inches (500 cm) of latex.
Stitch Glossary & Abbreviations:
Chain (ch.). Single crochet (sc.): insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over again, pull through all loops on hook. Double crochet (dc.): yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over again, pull through remaining 2 loops. Raised sc. edging: 1st row: sc.; 2nd row and following: work sc. by inserting the hook only in the back loop of the sc. from the previous row. Stockinette stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.
Gauge: a 4-inch (10 cm) square in dc. with a 3 mm hook = 26 sts. x 8 rows.ows.
Execution
Pants – Front and back – These are the same and worked together vertically. Make a foundation chain of 37 sts. + 3 ch. for turning, and work in dc.; At the end of the row, make a chain of 16 stiches. Continue working as follows: 8 sts. in raised sc. edging and 46 sts. in dc.; After 14 inches (35 cm) from the start of the work, stop making 16 sts. on the same side as the 16 sts. from the 2nd row. Work 2 rows in dc. and increase the 16 sts. again, then continue the other leg as the first. After 28 inches (71 cm) from the start of the work, stop making 16 sts. on the same side as the increased sts. in the 2nd row and fasten off (see pattern). Sew the inseams and the back of the pants. Make 5 rows in sc. all around the waistband. Bib – Work in sc. on the 35 central sts. on the front of the pants. After 2.75 inches (7 cm) from the start of the bib, decrease 1 st. on each side every row (2x). Then for the straps, work in sc. on only 8 sts. on each side. After 8.6 inches (22 cm) from the start of the strap, make a buttonhole (3 sc., 2 ch., skip 2 sc. from the previous row, 3 sc.; in the next row, make 2 sc. in the ch). After 9 inches (23 cm) from the start of the strap, fasten off. Bow – Cast on 14 sts. with the 4 mm knitting needles and work in stockinette stitch. After 8 inches (20 cm) from the start of the work, bind off.
Finishing – Divide the latex into 5 equal parts. Fold it in half and pass it through the wrong side between the sts., one part in each of the five rows of the waistband. Center 2.75 inches (7 cm) at the back of the pants and sew the buttons.
Bow finishing – Sew the cast-on row to the bind-off row. Wrap a thread around the center of the work, gathering all stiches. Tie it tightly to prevent it from loosening and sew it to the front of the bib of the overalls (see photo).
