Círculo Crochet Hook – 7.0 mm
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Glossary & Abbreviations: st. (Stitch), sts. (Stitches), ch. (Chain), sl st. (Slip Stitch), rnd. (Round), sc. (Single Crochet), dc. (Double Crochet), FP dc. (Front Post Double Crochet).
Gauge: A 4-inch square, made in fantasy st. with Premium T-Shirt Yarn and a 7.0 mm hook, measures 7 sts. x 8 rows.
Instructions
Chart 1
With the Brazilian Green yarn, start with 30 ch. + 1 ch. to turn the work.
1- Start in the 4th ch. from the hook, work: 30 dc.
2- Start with 1 ch., 30 sc.
3- Start with 3 ch., 1 FP dc. taking the st. from the 1st row., 1 dc. in the base row , repeat from to until the end of row.
Keep following chart 1, working in back-and-forth rows, making the appropriate color changes.
Fasten off the Carmine and White yarns, set the Brazilian Green yarn aside.
Chart 2 - Contouring
Continue with the Brazilian Green yarn from chart 1.
1- In the corner, work: 3 sc. in the same base space, along the side, work: 1 sc. in each base st. , repeat from to , all around the piece. Close with sl st. Fasten off the yarn.
Chart 3
Join the Carmine yarn in the corner, work along the side of the piece in back-and-forth rows.
1 to 9- Start with 4 ch., skip 1 base space, 1 dc., 1 ch., skip 1 base space , repeat from to until the end of row. Finish with 1 dc. Fasten off the yarn.
Chart 4
Join the Brazilian Green yarn in the corner, work along the side of the piece in back-and-forth rows.
1 to 10- Start with 4 ch., skip 1 base space, 1 dc., 1 ch., skip 1 base space , repeat from to until the end of row. Finish with 1 dc. Fasten off the yarn.
Fold the 2 parts (Charts 3 and 4) at the back of the piece, sew the sides using a tapestry needle and the Brazilian Green yarn.
Cord: Work each cord with 20 ch.
Make 3 cords on each side of the opening, leaving a space of 6 “squares” between each cord. Use the same yarn color on both sides of the opening.
