Execution
The doormat is made using the tapestry crochet technique, where two or more strands are worked in the same row, changing colors according to the chart. To change colors, pull through the last two loops on the hook with the new color, and carry the unused yarn along the previous row, hiding it between the stitches.
Chart 1
With Candy Yellow yarn and a 4.0 mm hook, start with 104 ch. + 1 ch. to turn the work.
R1: Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, make 104sc.
R2-6: Make 1 ch., 104 sc. Fasten off.
R7: Attach Aqua yarn and carry it along the base row. With Candy Yellow, start with 1 ch., 10 sc, change to Aqua, 5 sc., change back to Candy Yellow, 89 sc.
Continue following Chart 1, working in back-and-forth rows and making the appropriate color changes. Fasten off all yarns and set aside the Candy Yellow from the last color change.
Chart 2 – Finishing
Continue using the Candy Yellow yarn from Chart 1 with a 4.0 mm hook.
R1: Start with 1 ch., 3 sc. in the same base stitch, work 1 sc. in each stitch along the edge, at the corner work 4 sc. in the same stitch , repeat from to around the entire piece. Close with sl st. Fasten off.
R2: Attach the Peach yarn and change to the 3.5 mm hook. Start with 1 ch., work 1 crab st. for each base st. around the entire piece. Close with sl st. Fasten off.
