Circular knitting needle 5.0 mm, 31” long steel cable;

Stitches used in knitting: 1/1 ribbing: follow Chart 1, knit stitch: follow Chart 2, jacquard tree and gift box (knit stitch): follow Chart 2.
Gauge: A 4-inch square in knit stitch (Chart 2) on 5.0 mm circular needles = 17 stitches x 22 rows.
Instructions
Transfer the pattern pieces to tracing paper to use as a reference while working the piece. Follow the arrows in the measurement diagram for the direction of the work. Knit the entire piece in back-and-forth rows.
Tree and gift box pillow cover: Using the white Mollet yarn, cast-on 89 stitches with 5.0 mm circular needles. Knit 87 sts. according to the specified stitches (Charts 1 and 2) and 1 st. on each side for the edges. Start with a 1/1 ribbing following Chart 1 and the repeat sts. for 3 cm/1.2 inches. Switch to the Mollet yarn in the pepper color, knit in stockinette st. following Chart 2 and the repeat sts. for 7 cm/2.75 inches. On the next row, knit the jacquard tree and gift box pattern following Chart 2 from row 1 to row 85, following the color changes of the Mollet yarn (white, pepper, and flag colors) as indicated in the color legend and on the chart. On the next row, with the Mollet yarn in the pepper color, knit in stockinette st. following Chart 2 and the repeat sts. for 10 cm/3.9 inches. Still using the Mollet yarn in the pepper color, knit in 1/1 ribbing following Chart 1 and the repeat sts. for 3 cm/1.2 inches. Switch back to the Mollet white yarn and knit in stockinette stitch following Chart 2 and the repeat sts. for 37 cm/14.5 inches. When the piece reaches 100 cm/39.3 inches in length from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Assembly: Use the tapestry needle and Mollet yarn in the colors (white or pepper) according to the piece. Close the sides of the piece (19 inch.) with running stitches. Insert the cover into the pillow stuffing and sew the top of the piece with running stitches.
