Candy tote bag


Materials


Círculo – Apolo 8- 3 cones (200 g each) in the color 5276 - Candy Green.


Círculo crochet hook- 4.0 mm.


Círculo tapestry needle- no. 13.


Size: 34 cm (width)  x 42 cm (height)

Stitches used


Chain stitch (ch). slip stitch (slst): insert the hook, yarn over and pull up the loop, pull it through the loop on the hook. Single crochet (sc): insert the hook, yarn over and pull up the loop, yarn over again and pull it through both loops on the hook. Double crochet yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up the loop, yarn over again and pull it through the first 2 loops on the hook, yarn over again and pull it through the two remaining stitches. Bottom: follow chart 2. Mesh stitch: follow chart 1.

 

Gauge- 10 x 10 cm square in mesh stitch (chart 1) using 4.5 mm crochet hook = 15 sts x 6 rows.

 

Execution – Bag- start at the bottom. Chain 47 + 3 and work the bottom of the bag following chart 2. When you’re done with the chart, work in mesh stitch following chart 1 and repeating the sts between 52 times. At the end of the row, join in the round with a slst into the 1st stitch from the previous row; begin the next row with a ch 3 (counts as a st) and turn your work. Make the mesh stitch until the bag measures 42 cm, then make 2 rows of DC and fasten off.

Pocket-  chain 18 + 3 and make 10 rows in DC; then work one row of SC all around the pocket. Fasten off.

Straps- chain 6 + 3 and work in DC for a total of 71 cm; fasten off. Make two straps.

 

Finishing- sew the pocket onto one of the sides of the tote bag following the measurements on the chart.  Sew one strap to each side of the bag, leaving 12 cm in the middle between the seams, according to the chart.
